Mt Sinai Part 2

After being told he has roseola, we thought it was over. However, we were wrong... that Saturday another fever appeared again. He was at a high of 101 -- Sunday he was hoovering around 99 and high 100s. We called it in, and on Monday both his ped and liver team talked it out and said it's most likely another viral infection he caught and give him a break. However if other symptoms show - such as vomiting - we need to go back to the ER. Well of course Kyle decided that on Tuesday he wanted to make a trip there. He vomits and is at a high of 103.

The trip to the ER turned into a stay of 48 hours. Although it turned out there was no bacterial in his blood stream -- his liver enzymes numbers were trending high enough to be alarming the day we went in, which had us staying. Great to see his nurses and docs...but def not condition we would of wanted it to be. At the end of the day after several rounds of tests and a few rounds of antibiotics they discharged him saying it was 99% viral. We're going back there Monday for another round of blood test just to make sure all is good and trending down.

The best part -- I guess more for daddy is NFL draftees made an appearance at the hospital day of draft. He got some autographs and a pic of RG3.

More pics to be posted shortly.

Trip to ER

Our lil boy spiked a 102.8 fever yesterday. It alerted the doctors on board. Liver team had us go in to get blood drawn. When we arrived the fever disappeared, however they still had to draw blood. Kyle's older now and understands it too in a way. Every time a doctor or nurse came in he would start having tears in his eyes., then when they examine him he'll cry his eyes out. Poor baby! At least finding a vein for blood work and IV wasn't hard at all compare to the others.
Luckily after about 3.5 hours, we were discharged. His blood work came with good results and he didn't spike another fever. His total bilirubin was only a .4! Which is great!! The only thing was his liver enzymes which were a little high. but for us it seemed normal since it was never back to normal since last year. Guess we'll see what doctors say next time we visit.
We're home now... And little man hasn't spiked a fever since that then. Keep it that way my boy, keep it that way!!!

Hurricane Kyle

Hurricane Irene is approaching, but while everyone in the city is prepping for her our little Hurricane Kyle sent us to the emergency room last night. Yesterday, he had his liver check up. He weighed in at 16lbs and 26ins (still in the 3rd percentile – but doctor is still happy with it). He got his blood drawn (which we found out the results were pretty much the same as last months). He was doing great in the morning, he was his happy usual self. Then towards the afternoon, he started acting strange. He wasn’t eating, the solids that he consumed for breakfast came back up. It was scary. All he wanted to do was sleep. He looked so uncomfortable. When we arrive home, daddy tried feeding him cereal and formula. All that came back up as well. We saw he looked extra tired too. Finally, we called it in and they told us to make a trip in so he can be seen. We went to the ER, took forever to get seen only to be kicked out with them saying it’s nothing because OF COURSE at the hospital Kyle was jumping and laughing. The one good thing about the trip was finding out his blood results a little earlier than usual. Today is another day, he’s doing better but still looks exhausted and not eating as much. We’re hoping this is just a bug that will go away fast. He’s also teething…which doesn’t make it easy at all.
Some other news-  he also started OT (2x a month) and PT (1x a week)...and he no longer needs monthly visit, it is now bi-monthly! YAY!!!
Here are some photos of our little man:
